Name: Kerzia Akanbase
Country: Ghana
Education: College of Nursing and Midwifery,Nalerigu
Area of Study: Nursing
Profession Interest: Midwifery Nurse
Kerzia Akanbase grew up in the rural poorest and driest in the Upper East of Ghana. She was raised by her mom with three siblings when her dad passed away when she was just 5-year-old. Her mom has no job but only struggles to sell firewood to bring food to the table. Kerzia’s older brother is deaf and unable to support the family due to stigma against deaf people in rural areas in Ghana. Kerzia successfully completed high school and gained admission into College of Nursing and Midwifery in Northern Ghana to study midwifery and nursing but doesn’t have the support to continue her education. Because of little or no income from her mother, she is not able to continue to support her to go to college. Sabu Help International has chosen to support her. Without an education, she won’t have the opportunity to transform her life circumstance. This is where I am coming to you for your help. Without your help she will drop out of school and her future will be up in the air. Kerzia is a first-generation student, and we can empower her to work herself out of poverty and, hopefully change her life situation.
