Name: Abigail Kotoka
Country: Ghana Education: Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Area of Study: BSC. Disability and Rehabilitation Abigail graduated from high school with the aspiration of attending college. However, due to financial challenges, her dream seemed out of reach. Raised by her mother, a hardworking fishmonger, Abigail has faced many obstacles, but her determination and perseverance have brought her this far. She has now gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she will study Disability and Rehabilitation. In Ghana, individuals living with disabilities face significant inequities, including poverty, limited access to healthcare, and high unemployment rates. While advocacy efforts and national policies are in place, societal stigma and misconceptions continue to marginalize this group. Abigail is eager to use her education to address these challenges, helping people with disabilities access the care and opportunities they deserve. To make this possible, Sabu Help International has committed to supporting Abigail’s education, but we cannot do it alone. Without additional support, Abigail may be forced to abandon her studies, putting her future and the impact she hopes to make at risk. That’s why I am reaching out to ask for your help in ensuring she can continue her education and pursue her passion for helping others. |
